WHERE TO BUY SUPPLIES & CONSUMABLES

TIPS & TRICKS

My local welding shop used to be my go to option for equipment and supplies but the Internet has quickly changed all of that.  I love to support my local shops and the are sometimes your savior in a pinch but often times cost is a major driving force that pushes you to the net.

Over the last few years I have narrowed my supplier list to a few vendors that I know deliver quality products for the best price. Instead of searching the net every time I need something I stick with a few primary vendors.   The list below are the vendors that I use and highly recommend both for price and customer service.

Hypertherm Plasma cutter and consumables -  Baker Gas & Welding

Baker Gas is my go to source for Plasma cutters and consumables

as well as my flap disks, grinding equipment and all of my welding

supplies.  Their prices are great, shipping is fast and customer

service is awesome.  They consistently beat out my local shops

and other online retailers.

They offer a special 5% Hypertherm

Consumables only using

The coupon code - fabworks5

For my custom finishes and patinas I head over to Steel F/X they offer a host

of patinas, metal stains, gel stains, coatings and equipment to make your  custom

coating a reality.  I have a few examples of their products on the Finishing options page as well as in the projects section

I like having the ability to design my own files and artwork when I have the time.   Having the ability to design files and artwork are absolutely necessary for the success of your hobby and or business.   Take the time to learn how to make your own files or modify existing ones.  Check out the Design Software Page and Tutorials Page for more info.  You do not have to be artistic, the software these days is capable of doing a lot of the work.   That being said there are times when reinventing the wheel is not necessary or cost efficient and that is where places like www.cncdxffiles.com comes in. They have thousands of files to choose from a ton of free files and samples as well.   With a little practice you can take an awesome file from here and customize it for a customer and turn it into an awesome piece.

If you have not read the page on Water Table Treatment take a look at that and really read the MSDS information that is provided on that page.   Your Health and the health of anyone around the table should be your first priority.  You can order GreenCut from an ever expanding list of suppliers, but if you have problems finding a supplier contact Lube Corp directly and they can help you out.
